London Police: Oyo's First Lady Was Not Arrested

News making the rounds today is that Oyo First Lady, Mrs Florence Ajumobi was arrested yesterday by London's Metropolitan police in the UK for being in possession of £400, 000 (N500 million). But the London MET has denied that any such arrest took place. They said there's no information on the alleged arrest in their police database

River State Governor Purchase $45 Million Bombardier Jet

The River State commissioner for information, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, has confirmed the purchase. The state bought a brand new $45million Bombardier Global 5000 (N565RS) jet for Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

According to the commissioner, the jet was paid for two years ago, and they bought it for 'safety reasons'. She said the governor consulted the Rivers state House of Assembly and they approved the purchase.

SaharaReporters reported that the jet was primarily purchased from Bombardier in Canada for $45.7 million through the Bank of Utah Trustee account, and was delivered to the state government on October 7th 2012.

Meanwhile, the Rivers state commissioner said the old aircraft, an Embraer Legacy 600, will be sold.

The Man Responsible For The Arik Air Bomb Scare Released From Custody

The Boko Haram member who tried to blow up an Arik Air plane which flew from Maiduguri to Abuja.

The man responsible for Arik Air failed bomb explosion scare was today released from police custody. The man, identified as Aminu Galadima, according to them is an interior decorator with a history of mental illness. Mr Galadima was released after investigators were satisfied that he had no intentions of blowing up the plane and also had no ties to any terrorist group. Fashola Seize's Obasanjo's Van,Obasanjo Retaliates, Impound 10 BRT Buses

Since last weekend, about 10 LAG buses belonging to the Lagos State Government have been impounded in Ota, Ogun State and packed in Obasanjo Farms. This happened in retaliation over the confiscation of a utility vehicle last Friday belonging to Obasanjo Farms owned by the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. 

I heard that the vehicle belonging to Obasanjo Farms was seized by the officials of Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) for contravening traffic law and after Obasanjo’s efforts failed to get the vehicle released, even personally calling Fashola and I was reliably informed that the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola turned down Obasanjo’s pleas for the release of his vehicle but instead advised him that his company should obey the law.

Obasanjo's company allegedly instigated some miscreants to forcefully seize over 10 LAG buses that crossed the Lagos-Ogun boundary in Ota and following the alleged seizure of the LAG buses, the management of the bus company has halted all further operations to Ota axis until further notice.

Governor Of Taraba State Die In Plane Crash

The Governor of Taraba State, Dambaba Suntai has died in an aircrash at the Yola airport in Adamawa state. The governor died in a small plane piloted by him.

His remains is yet to be recovered from the plane as at the time of writing this...

The doctor and the niece were said to have been promised payment of almost $2million if they succeed in killing the president. It later emerged that Benin multimillionaire businessman, Patrice Talon, was the one who hired their services. Fortunately they didn't succeed. The plot to poison the president failed after his niece told her sister about their plan. The sister then told the president.

Teacher Flogs Student To Death In Anambra State

A 12-year-old student of a secondary school in Awka, Anambra State, Miss Chidimma Ukachukwu, has died after she was allegedly flogged by her teacher for failing to do her homework.

A reliable source in the school told the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka on Tuesday that the girl died on Thursday last week after she was flogged. The source explained that the girl fainted after being flogged severally by a female teacher and was subsequently rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where she died.

Obafemi Martins, Obinna Nsofor Listed Among World's 50 Fastest Players

THERE was pandemonium at Satellite neighbourhood/NTA Road in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, at the weekend, as a man identified as Mr Samuel Job Isaac was electro-cuted while working on an electrical fault in the area.

Isaac, who died on the spot, was said to be a worker of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). The deceased, said to be an Electrical/Electro-nics Engineering gra-duate of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, allegedly met his death when a high tension cable landed on him while trying to repair a fault on the electrical pole......

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Saturday punched a protocol officer who refused to allow him sit on a chair reserved for the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, at the 80th birthday celebration of former vice president, Chief Alex Ekwueme, in Enugu. The incident occurred 20 minutes before most of the invited guests arrived.

It was learnt that the seater was reserved for the host Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime and Obi. The Deputy Governor, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, represented Chime who is still out of the country.

According to the National Enquirer Magazine, the host of the recently concluded dance oriented reality TV show, Maltina Dance Hall sponsored by Nigerian Breweries, Kemi Adetiba has been trying to manage a scandal, which could mar her hard earned reputation for quite a while now.

The Law graduate turned TV host, MC extraordinaire was arrested by the anti graft agency, Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over her shady involvement in a N15m belonging to a church in Gbagada area of Lagos

The 13 suspects arrested in connection with the murder of four UNIPORT students have been charged before a Port Harcourt Magistrate on a five-count charge of conspiracy and murder and were yesterday remanded in prison till the case comes up again in December. Three of them spoke to the press and 30 year old David Chinase Ugbaje said a policeman joined in beating the youths while another policeman begged on their behalf.
